Spring mix and chocolate in a smoothie? Oh yes, friends. Yes, indeed. Just give this rich, delicious and nutritious smoothie from Megs at Curry Girls Kitchen. This guilt-less morning treat tastes like a glass full of chocolate chip zucchini bread. Smoothies are a great way to sneak more organic greens into your diet.
Blend on high for 1-2 minutes until nice and creamy. Add more water if desired. Top with optional toppings
AMAZING!
This smoothie was super easy, filling, long lasting, and DELICIOUS! I plan to have this many, many more mornings (maybe even tomorrow). I highly recommend it.
I would, however, really like to know the nutrition information.
Nutrition information?
Yes! P;ease provide nutrition information. I sometimes won’t try recipes if it’s not available.
Here you go, Cynthia. The specifics will depend on which specific ingredients and how (I calculated this with 1 tbsp of almond butter): 591 calories, 91 grams of carbs, 16 grams of fat, 28 grams of protein.
steam before freezing?
Sounds great but. . .Why does the zucchini need to be steamed before freezing?
Great question! Veggies all need to be par-cooked before freezing because freezing destroys their cell structure and so they turn to mush if not par-cooked beforehand. Fruits have more sugars in them, which helps protect their quality and color during freezing, so they are not typically par-cooked in advance.
