Ways to Prepare Meals with Frozen Ingredients

Sauté a Side — A healthy side dish is minutes away. Grab some Earthbound Farm Frozen Organic Broccoli and sauté with a little olive oil, maybe some garlic and salt and pepper. That’s it. So simple yet so yummy!

Blend a Breakfast (or Snack) — A fruit-based smoothie makes an easy day-starter or mid-day pick-me-up, and for many people (especially kids) it’s also a good introduction to the world of smoothies. Using frozen fruit to whip up a Mango Strawberry Carrot Smoothie means you don’t need ice to keep it thick and frothy. Mix in a nutrient powerhouse like hemp or flax seeds, or eat a handful of almonds alongside to increase the nutritional boost. It uses Earthbound Farm Frozen Organic Mango Chunks and Earthbound Farm Frozen Organic Strawberries.

Stuff an Avocado — Who would think of frozen produce in a salad recipe? The legendary Candle Café restaurants in New York City, that’s who! In their cookbook, Vegan Holiday Cooking from Candle Cafe, the Stuffed Avocado Salad with Chipotle Vinaigrette is simply astounding — not just for its refreshingly fresh flavors but because it features frozen green peas and frozen sweet corn! Check out the recipe for ways to make it Earthbound Organic.

Purée a Soup (or Sauce) — Frozen veggies make a thick, smooth and hearty soup in a snap! Our Broccoli, Spinach, Kale, and Chard Soup (featuring our Frozen Organic Power Blend) is quick and easy enough for a weeknight, but tasty enough to share with friends. Once you’ve mastered the technique, experiment with other veggie combos you like — the sky’s the limit.

Another soup that utilizes a mix of frozen and fresh cauliflower options is our Cream of Cauliflower Soup with Prosciutto Crumbs. Once cooked and blended, cauliflower takes on a silky texture, which makes this soup wonderfully creamy.

Roast ‘Em Up — Frozen potatoes are convenient but often questionable imitations of their fresh brethren. Our answer: grow ‘em organic and then roast ‘em! Our organic frozen potatoes are a cut far above traditional fries — Roasted Sweet Potatoes with Sea Salt & Olive Oil and Roasted Red Potatoes are already toasty and ready to finish in your oven.
